Blue-leaved huckleberry is a low-growing, mat-forming shrub, with delicious blue berries that are enjoyed by wildlife and humans alike. It is commonly found growing at high elevations alongside black huckleberry. This mountain plant can be difficult to grow at low elevations; be sure to plant it in acidic, well-draining soil, mulch with conifer needles, and keep the soil moist during summer heat.
