Evergreen Huckleberry (Vaccinium ovatum)

Sale price$12.00

Evergreen huckleberry is a fantastic shrub for coastal gardens! It is a desirable ornamental with its glossy, dark green foliage, which can turn reddish purple in full sun. It is equally beautiful when grown as a specimen plant, or as an evergreen hedge. It flowers profusely from spring to early summer, with its small, pinkish-white bell shaped flowers attracting a host of pollinators. The purplish-black berries are edible and delicious, and are enjoyed by both humans and wildlife. Evergreen huckleberry is a  good substitute for box (Buxus sempervirens) and invasive evergreen shrubs, such as English holly (Ilex aquifolium).
