





Solomon's Plume (Maianthemum racemosum)
Solomon's plume is a choice plant for woodland gardens, preferring partial shade and moist, humus-rich soil. This herbaceous perennial is rhizomatous but has a clumping habit, with large pointed leaves alternating along gracefully arching stems, that terminate in showy plumes of small, fragrant white flowers. The speckled green and red berries turn fully red when ripe, and are loved by birds. This plant can also be grown in containers.

Native Habitat & Range: Forests, woodlands, moist meadows, and streambanks at low to mid elevations. Grows on both sides of the Cascade Mountains, widespread across North America.
