Hooker’s Fairybells (Prosartes hookeri)

Sale price$10.00

Hooker's fairybells are a lush, herbaceous perennial for shady, moist areas of the garden. This charming understory plant grows up to 3' tall, and spreads slowly through rhizomes to create a tall groundcover. Delicate, white, bell-shaped flowers bloom in the spring, followed by orange to red berries in the summer that are enjoyed by birds. Try interplanting it with low-growing shade-loving groundcovers such as pacific bleeding heart, western lily of the valley, or piggyback plant to create a layered look and increased biodiversity. The plants die back completely in the winter, and are one of the first plants to reappear in the spring.
