Licorice Fern (Polypodium glycyrrhiza)

Sale price$10.00

Licorice fern is a frequent sight in the temperate rainforests of coastal British Columbia, most often found growing epiphytically on big-leaf maples and other deciduous trees, as well as moss-covered rocks. These attractive ferns can be planted in shady areas of the garden that mimic their natural habitat, such as mossy nooks of deciduous trees or logs, or amongst mossy rocks and rock walls. The foliage can be evergreen depending on the conditions, but often dies back in the summer heat, and reappears with cooler temperatures.
