Pacific Ninebark (Physocarpus capitatus)

Pacific ninebark is a large, deciduous multi-stemmed shrub with an arching habit, that prefers moist areas in part shade. It is a beautiful and desirable shrub for the landscape, with attractive peeling bark, maple-like leaves, and large rounded clusters of white flowers that later become bright red seed pods. The flowers attract many pollinators, especially butterflies and moths, and the roots provide erosion control in riparian habitats.
